Women in Business Retreat hosted by the Indy Chamber, March 8/9 2018

Miles Printing has been a proud sponsor of the WIB RETREAT since its inception and this year, we couldn't be more proud.  For two days, the sold-out Retreat offered 200+ attendees with connection, engagement and empowerment thanks to the spot-on programming provided by the Indy Chamber. For those who attended, you know.  But for those who didn't, please make sure to plan early and register for next year because this event will surely sell-out early as it is being kept intimate and exclusive by design.

MAKING PURPOSEFUL CONNECTIONS was the ideal title for this event because the theme resonated throughout each and every topic presented by dozens of expert panelists.  EVERY presenter offered golden nuggets of invaluable information and wisdom for attendees to mine and implement moving forward in business and in life.

Highlights

THE OPEN:  BOSS PRESENCE

Dawn Rosemond, Barnes & Thorburg and author of BOSS PRESENCE, kicked off the event with royal power.  Dawn eloquently entertained the audience with POW! by purposefully offering her tips for "bad chicks" i.e. WIB speak for "great women" to REIGN at work. Dawn called it a "REIGN Session" and every single person in the audience was showered with courage to step up, become the best version of themselves and wear a crown to win.  Without question, Dawn is an awe-inspiring queen.

THE KEYNOTE

The Empowerment Project, a film by Sarah Moshman and Dana Cook.

As a seasoned marketing veteran, I've personally attended hundreds of Keynotes and I can't recall being so moved. Ever. Sarah and Dana are our 21st Century role-models.  These two brilliant women create compelling content that shifts the axis of the planet as we know or knew it. THE EMPOWERMENT PROJECT, a documentary film is not to be missed so find it, watch it and talk about it.  The short story:  with an all-female crew, Sarah and Dana documented a cross country road trip interviewing unforgettable women who excel in a male-dominated world. Watch the trailer here.

Joanna Taft - The Harrison Center

Joanna's gifts are many, but the one that held the audience captive was her overflowing and genuine love of her community.  Joanna is a Cultural Entrepreneur and Founder and Board Chair Emeritus of Herron High School and Founder of the Cultural Initiative and the City Gallery. Take our word for it.  Follow Joanna.  Her footsteps will enlighten yours.

Body language SPEAKS.  Are you listening?

Part Coach, part Business Executive, part Mind-Reader,  Linda Clemons of Sisterpreneur Inc., received multiple standing O's for her powerfully persuasive and interactive presentation.  Involving the audience throughout, every eye and ear was tuned in and cell phones were ignored.  If the opportunity presents itself, please catch Linda if you can.  Learn more about Ms. Clemons and Sisterpreneur here.

BRAVO! Indy Chamber!  You knocked this event out of the park.  I'll know where I'll be in the early Spring of 2019 and that comes with a  promise:  I will connect, encourage and share this a-m-a-z-i-n-g content that was intelligently and artistically presented during MAKING PURPOSEFUL CONNECTIONS, WIB RETREAT 2018.
