Miles Printing wins FIVE awards at the 19th Annual Great Lakes Graphics annual competition. The judging was conducted on March 6-7, 2018, by a team of independent judges. The GEA competition is one of the largest competitions in the nation. Awards will be celebrated at the annual awards dinner on May 23, 2018.
A panel of out-of-state judges with extensive experience in printing and print production was brought in to examine the work. Each entry was judged on its own merit in a category with similar printed pieces. The judging criteria included registration, crossovers, clarity and neatness, sharpness of halftones and line drawings, richness and tonal qualities of color, paper and ink selection, ink coverage, difficulty of printing, effective contrast or softness, finishing, bindery and overall visual impact.

ABOUT Great Lakes Graphics Association
The Great Lakes Graphics Association (GLGA) brings together three strong and successful industry associations, creating an organization that is positioned to best advocate for and provide services to printers and graphics companies in a three-state area. The Printing Industry of Illinois/Indiana Association (PII) and the Printing Industries of Wisconsin (PIW) merged in 2011 to create GLGA, a new association that represents 13 percent of the total print market in the United States. GLGA’s three-state region accounts for combined annual shipments of nearly $19 billion, according to the Printing Industries of America’s most recent Print Market Atlas.
